What happens if I exceed the limits?
To safeguard you from unexpected costs, Bytescale actively manages your account to ensure it does not exceed its designated limits.
What Happens if I Exceed the Limits?
Bytescale will return a 400 HTTP status code with a descriptive JSON error response when a request demands a resource that has surpassed your account's allocated limit.
Your Account Limits
Your account’s limits are applied to:
- Bandwidth: Total monthly egress data transfer from Bytescale to the Internet. This includes all file downloads, image views, video plays, and audio plays. Ingress data transfer, like uploads to Bytescale, is free, except for accelerated uploads, which incur a separate charge and are disabled by default. (Contact Bytescale Support for details on enabling accelerated uploads.)
- Processing: Total monthly time used for file transformations, including processing images and transcoding video and audio files.
- Storage: Total storage used at any point in time.
- Upload Requests: Total monthly number of files created and/or overwritten. These include file upload operations, file copy operations, and file transformation operations that use POST requests to save the transformation result back to your account.
Adjusting Your Account Limits
If you require higher limits, please upgrade your plan or contact our team to discuss custom limits.
In the event of payment issues, we may need to adjust your monthly limits to reflect the amounts paid. This decision will consider your payment history and usage levels. To ensure stability for larger or mission critical applications, we recommend switching to a Bytescale Enterprise Plan on yearly billing, which provides consistent limits and can help avoid potential disruptions due to payment difficulties.
Notifications and Monitoring
- Usage Notifications: Bytescale will notify every administrator on your account via email when any of your limits reach 80% utilization, and once again at 100% utilization.
- Usage Monitoring: Bytescale displays your current usage levels and limits under the "Billing" and "Monitoring" pages in the Bytescale Dashboard.
